TACES Call for Award Nominations
TACES would like to honor the hard work of its members with four awards. Awards will be presented at the TACES Mid-Winter Conference business luncheon (February 28, 2025) in Georgetown, TX.
Nomination materials must be included in one PDF document emailed to Dr. Wen- Mei Chou at wchou@umhb.edu and must clearly articulate the award category.

Nominations are Due: Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11:59pm.
Award Categories
Nominees demonstrate exemplar practice as a counselor educator in scholarly, teaching, and/or service pursuits. Strong nominees foster, educate, and mentor future counselors. Nomination packet includes:
- Nomination letter highlighting exemplar practice in pursuits and confirmation of nominee’s membership in TACES
- Current vita of nominee
- Supplemental materials not to exceed 5 pages (e.g., additional letters of support, other supporting documents)
Nominees demonstrate a record of advocacy activities to support the mission of TACES and counselors in Texas. Nomination packet includes:
- Nomination letter highlighting advocacy efforts and confirmation of nominee’s membership in TACES
- Current resume or vita of nominee
- Supplemental materials not to exceed 5 pages(e.g., additional letters of support, other supporting documents)
Nominees demonstrate exemplar practice as a supervisor. Strong nominees demonstrate a record of providing academic, professional, personal, and organizational support to supervisees. Nomination packet includes:
- Nomination letter highlighting exemplar practice in supervision and confirmation of nominee’s membership in TACES
- Current resume or vita of nominee
- Supplemental materials not to exceed 5 pages (e.g., additional letters of support, other supporting documents)
Nominees demonstrate exemplar practice as a graduate
student in scholarly, teaching, supervision, clinical, and/or
service pursuits. Strong nominees demonstrate a record of
dedication and potential for future contributions. Nomination packet includes:
- Nomination letter highlighting exemplar practice in pursuits and confirmation of nominee’s membership in TACES
- Current vita of nominee
- Supplemental materials not to exceed 5 pages (e.g., additional letters of support, other supporting documents)
Grants
TACES honors the hard work of it's members with four grant awards. Grant awards are presented annually at the TACES Mid-winter Conference. Proposal Categories include the TACES Advocacy Grant and the TACES Research Grant.

Scholarships
The Texas Association of Counselor Education and Supervision offers graduate student members the chance to apply for our annual scholarship award. Scholarship awards are $500.All applicants must meet the below criteria:
Applicants must be current students in a graduate counseling program in Texas (both Masters and Doctoral students are encouraged to apply)
Applicants must be a member of both TCA and TACES
Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher in their current counseling coursework
